It is with an extremely sad heart that I'm reaching out today to the Alberta heavy events community to inform you that Bob Brown passed away on July 28, 2025.  He will be greatly missed.

Memories and condolences to the family can be shared through the online memorial. 

 

Bobby was an incredible friend to many of us and was always ready to provide advice and encouragement. I know I have a lot of good memories from my time spent with Bob on and off the field and I hope you do too. I still remember him saying that his goal was to throw in one competition, just to say he did it. That one competition turned into almost 20 years of throwing.

 

We will still be going forward with the event planned for August 16th. The event has been renamed to the Bob Brown Memorial for this year as a way to honor Bob's memory.

 

I'm struggling to find the right words to end this, so all I'm going to say is make sure you let the people important to you know they matter. I enjoy every minute I'm on the field with all of you and I'm so happy I found this sport. If you need someone to talk to, please reach out.
